Safe Pass

Construction Regulations 2006 state that staff working on construction sites or any works that qualify as construction projects under the regulations. Have to undergo basic Health & Safety training. This training takes place in the form of a Safe Pass Course.

Course Duration: 1 Day

Cost per person: €100 (€70 + €30)

Maximum Participants Per Course: 12

Who Should Attend: This Safe pass course is intended for construction workers, local authority workers, contractors, scaffolders, craft workers, on-site security personnel, including students, apprentices and seasonal workers.

Course Objectives:

After completing this Safe Pass Course, participants will have a greater appreciation and understanding of the workplace hazards associated with working on construction sites and how accidents can be avoided.

Course Content:

  • Fire safety legislation (Overview)
  • Understanding the physics and chemistry of fire
  • Development and spread of fire
  • Action in the event of fire
  • Means of raising alarm
  • Means of summoning the fire brigade
  • Action on hearing the fire alarm
  • Evacuation procedures
  • Practical demonstration in the use of foam and CO2 fire extinguishers

Further Details

Assessment: Assessment is by a Theory Test

Refresher Training & Certification Validity Period: 4 years.

Additional Information: DVD and laptop/projector presentation are used.

Safe Pass Course Certification: At the end of the course, we will issue a letter of completion to all participants, this letter can be given as evidence to employers until Safe Pass cards are issued to participants by Solas.

Special Instructions for This Course: This course is run in English and a good understanding of the language is expected from participants. (Courses can be run in other languages by prior arrangement if all participants speak the same language)

Mandatory Requirement: Participants must bring their PPS number on the day and a recent passport photograph. (Those who do not bring passport photographs may purchase one on the day at an additional cost of €10 or only €5 if you book before hand).
